HIRUDINOL is a white smooth easily absorbable gel containing extract from medical leeches and an extract from the flower Arnica Montana. HIRUDINOL is used for heavy, tired and sore legs and poor circulation in the legs.

One of the components of HIRUDINOL is the salvia medical leeches that contains painkilling, anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant active ingredients. The reason to this is that the leeches´ saliva contains several active substances, among others the protein hirudin that prevents the blood from coagulating and the enzyme hyaluronidase, which makes it easier for the hirudin to attach and spread in the surrounding tissue.

The other component of HIRUDINOL is an extract of the flower Arnica Montana. The flowers have a long tradition as alleviating treatment for external use. Its extracts are applied most frequently in the treatment of swellings and haematoma caused by sprains and strains. Arnica contains substances which locally increase the micro-circulation as well as substances that counteract inflammation and swelling caused by sprains and blood accumulation.
