NATUMIN PHARMA ACQUIRES MATERIA COMPACTA I HÖGANÄS AB

Natumin Pharma AB has acquired Materia Compacta i Höganäs AB, Sweden. Established in 1992, Materia Compacta i Höganäs AB specializes in producing tablets for the pharmaceutical-, natural remedy-, and food supplement industry according to GMP standards. Except tablet production, the facility in Höganäs will also accommodate Natumin’s development- and regulatory department.

- Our goal in acquiring Materia is to better provide for Natumin’s needs in production and development of new products. We are working to locate a bigger part of our dry goods production at the Materia facility, says Mr. Lars Kärnerud, CEO of Natumin, when asked about the reason behind the acquisition.

Welcome John, we are happy to have you here. What will be your position at Natumin?
Thank you. I’m replacing Sara Thulin whilst she is on maternity leave so the position will be that of “Legal counsel” - working with agreements, patents and trademarks.

Tell me about yourself, what have you been doing before you came here?
I finished my studies of business law in January of 2008 and I have been working at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency with legal issues for one and a half year since then.

What made you apply for this job?
I known Sara since we studied law together and after hearing about her job I thought it sounded very interesting and challenging.

What is your first impression of Natumin?
I know it sounds like a cliché but it is much like a family here where everyone really like what they are doing.

ACNIX® CREAM – UPGRADED MEDICAL DEVICE CLASSIFICATION

The European registration of Acnix Cream as a Medical Device has been upgraded from Class I to Class II a. The Swedish Medical Products Agency’s interpretation of acne is that skin can be damaged and may suffer from open wounds. This motivates an upgraded classification as a Medical Device Class II a product contrary to Class I which includes undamaged skin only. The Medical Device classification applies to European markets.
